Gwendolyn M. Wire

GWENDOLYN M. WIRE, 83, of Howe, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Life Care Center of LaGrange. Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Monroe, she was the daughter of the late Herb and Lola B. (Burkhead) Parrish. She moved to LaGrange from Fort Wayne in 1947. She was a homemaker, a cook at the Brighton School in Brighton, and a member of LaGrange Church of God. She married James A. Wire, Aug. 1, 1940 in Fort Wayne, and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Carolyn) Jacobs of Woodburn; a son, James R. (Shirley) Wire of Howe; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at LaGrange Church of God, with the Revs. Brian VanOsdol and Dwight Kauffman officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange. Burial at Brighton Cemetery. Memorials to LaGrange Food and Clothes Basket.
