John was born on December 7, 1945 in Calgary and passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. John was predeceased by his parents Gehard and Tina Dirks and siblings Friedrich, Friedrich (Fred), Walter, Hertha, Alfred, Ad, Zeb and Marianne. John is survived by his sons, Jason and Matthew; grandson Caelum; sisters-in-law Val "Fred", Amanda "Ad", Nicky "Zeb"; sisters, Margaret Friesen, Irene Petersen, Kate "Ed" Woelk, Edi "Ken" Hawkins, Anne Winter and brothers, Eric "Marilyn" Arnin "Thelma", Corney "Linda". He is also loved by his many nieces and nephews and many friends who will also miss him. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with John's family through www.evanjstrong.com.
