Harry Fields Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 3, 2009.
HARRY FIELDS JR. Harry E. Fields, Jr., 75, a retired electronics technician, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 29, 2009. He was born June 19, 1934, in Las Vegas, the son of LaPrele Waite Fields and Harry E. Fields Sr., and was a lifetime resident of Las Vegas. He was raised in a small house on S. 2nd St. (before it became Casino Center Blvd.) and attended 5th St. Grammar School and Las Vegas High School. Harry was a Ham operator for years, his call sign was WB7VVH. He also was very interested in genealogy and traced his family back to the 1300's. Harry's greatest joy was his family and he loved having them nearby. Harry is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Sharon Jensen Fields; and four children, Debra Rae Fields, Randall Lee Fields, Tracy Lynn Cooklin and Harry Scott Fields (Michelle). He was the proud Papa of Amber and Haylee Johnson, Christopher Fields, Taylor Fields and David Cooklin; plus two grandchildren who joined our family with their mothers - Nichole Nates and Jacob Morgan. He had two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Lucas Nates. Harry is also survived by his brother, Arthur Neagle; and two sisters, Betty Counts and Louisa Scott. No services are planned. There will be a celebration of Harry's life beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, for all family and friends to share their favorite memories and remember his life at the home of Harry and Michelle Fields. Please contact any member of the family for information.

I will miss Harry at our family gatherings. I enjoyed our conversations and the laughter that we shared.

I hope the memories of the love he shared with his family will bring comfort to all of them.

As the deep sorrow fades, may we all celebrate and remember Harry for his love, laughter, smile and for all that he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
