Helena Rock Obituary
HELENA C.
Peacefully on Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, Helen C., age 69, of Cranberry Twp, formerly of Folcroft, PA went to be with her Lord Jesus and her many friends. Born April 11, 1933 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Helen (Croghan) Hummel. Mrs. Rock was a faithful member of St Ferdinand's Catholic Church, Cranberry Twp, where she attended Mass daily. She was a former member of St Gabrial's Church, Norwood, PA. Helena was a Eucharistic Minister at St Ferdinand's and on Sundays at St Francis Nursing Center North, a Sacristan at St Ferdinand, an R.C.I.A. team member, Lector at Mass and was active on the Worship Committee. Mrs. Rock was also a member of the "Chicken Foot", the "Ladies for Las Vegas" and the Cranberry Senior's Clubs; she is survived by three sons, William H. Rock, Jr and his wife Phyllis and Thomas P. Rock, both of New Brighton, Michael R. Rock and his wife Mikki of Cranberry Twp; also four grandchildren; sister of Thomas Hummel and his wife, Marge of Prospect Park, PA. Mrs. Rock was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Rock, Sr, whom she married April 21, 1954 and who died Feb. 15, 1990. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-9 pm SUNDAY, GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon on Monday at St Ferdinand Catholic Church, Rochester Rd, Cranberry Twp with Fr Joseph Newell, celebrant. Interment will follow in St Gregory Cemetery, Zelienople. If desired, memorial contrib may be made to the A.L.S. of Western PA, One Station Square, Suite 550, Pgh., PA 15219

I'll never forget Helena...she was a HUGE part of my life growing up in Folcroft. After she moved to Mars (where the heck is that, anyway?), I enjoyed her visits back to our neck of the woods and was able to catch up with her on what was happening with Bill, Tom and Mike. I know she's in heaven enjoying herself with all her old friends and family. I'll miss her greatly!!

Aunt Helena could laugh and love like few people we have ever met. We will miss her greatly but we will take strength from the memory of her approach to life and family.

I will always remember Aunt Helenas kind and warm smile, but most of all her huge heart. She truly was an angelic woman, and we were all lucky to have had her in our lives.
All our love to her sons and their families ,over on the other side of Pennsylvania.

I cannot find the proper words to describe my memories of Aunt NiNi. Her laugh will remain in my heart for eternity. She was a second Mom to my brothers and sisters when we were little. I know that Kally is enjoying her company in heaven. I will always remember Aunt NiNi.

We are so saddened to hear of Helena's death, but we know that after her long struggle, she is relieved and at peace. I know she is having a ball visting with Bill, her Mom and all of her good friends that went before her.
We will miss her great sense of humor; and her delicious spaghetti dinners; and most of all her presence.
May God give comfort to her family.
