Gonzalez, Hernan I. Surrounded by Family, joined his Lord Friday, March 14, 2014, age 82. Beloved husband and best friend of Janet (Wildeman). Loving father of Rick I. (Charlotte), Joe R. (Debbie), Mary Ann (Kevin) Cavanaugh, Jerry (Josie) and Carlos (Amy). Loving grandfather of 17 beautiful grandchildren. Brother of Clotilde (Florian) Furmanek and the late Fabiola (Hugo) Elias. Born on May 31, 1931, to Jose I. and Clotilde (Villacorta) in Chiclayo, Peru and raised in Lima, Peru. Hernan attended San Marcos Military Academy and the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru and Northwestern University in Chicago, IL where he studied accounting. Hernan had a very interesting and successful career starting with General Finance in Chicago, IL and then in South America with Pure Oil Co. and Williams Bros. Construction. He continued with John Deere in Moline, IL and with Cutler Hammer (Eaton Corporation) in Milwaukee, WI. He served in many positions with Cutler Hammer including Senior Vice President for Canada and Latin America, Chairman of the Board for Cutler Hammer Mexicana, President Cutler Hammer Centro Americana and Director of Operations Cutler Hammer Canada and Latin America. He founded Hi-Gon International, an international business consulting company. He received many awards, most notably the prestigious Cutler Hammer Bell Ringer Award for turning around a manufacturing facility in Mexico City and saving many jobs. He was a Member of the World Trade Association. Hernan will always be remembered for his strong interest in other cultures and people, quick wit, mischievous smile and ability to start an interesting conversation with anyone. He is also fondly remembered and admired for his family devotion and career dedication. He loved his family and was extremely proud of all of his children and grand-children and always enjoyed family gatherings. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers from Compassionate Care, Veronica Serna and Warren Williams, and the staff at Sarah Chudnow community. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, March 20, from 4 - 7 PM. Additional visitation at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 21 prior to 12:00 noon Mass at LUMEN CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2700 W. Mequon Road. Private interment will take place this summer in Madison, WI. In lieu of flowers, the Family asks that donations be made to the "The Archdiocese of Milwaukee Senior Priests" in Hernan's name in honor of Fr. George Fleishmann.
