After returning from the war, he went to work for the Connecticut Natural Gas Co. as a Service Technician, where he worked for many years prior to his retirement. Hugo will be greatly missed by his family; three sons and their wives, Richard and Eileen Valentino of Colorado, James Valentino and Esther Herrera of Farmington, Robert and Gina Valentino of Florida; four daughters, Catherine and Paul Cavanna of Glastonbury, Christine Valentino of Florida, Susan Valentino of Glastonbury, Joanne and Eric Decker of Pennsylvania; two brothers and their wives, Richard and Doris Valentino of Atlanta, GA, and Robert and Barbara Valentino of Tennessee. He also leaves his cherished sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Hugo was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Valentino; three sisters, Connie Hopwood, Emma Valentino, and Lorraine Simeone. Hugo would like everyone to remember, "It's only for a life time". Remembering Hugo and Elsie this strawberry season and the great times we had shucking strawberries with Elsie and Hugo for Kathy's strawberry jam project. We can't get by a strawberry season without thinking if Hugo and Elsie. Wonderful times to fondly remember some really great people. . .

One of the nicest fellows I ever met. But that was long before his lovely wife came into the picture. I'm so happy he met Elsie and had a beaufiful family. That smile was always on his face. God bless him and may he and Elsie meet in heaven.

Dear Cathy, Rich, Jim, Chris, Sue, Bob, Joanne & all of Hugo’s Loved Ones,

At this sad time, we want you to know that your loss is felt by all of us. Hugo was truly a wonderful person and you were blessed to have such a special man to call Dad and Grandpa. The way he lived his life was not only an example to his family but all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Your Dad had a strong work ethic but always managed to have great balance in his life. He had a joyous spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet wisdom about him. Hugo’s memory will live on forever in every single heart he touched.

Our hope is that the dearest memories you shared with your Dad and Grandpa brings you all comfort and peace, and that the love that surrounds you will be a source of strength and comfort in the days and weeks ahead.

With Love & Heartfelt Sympathy,

Marita, Larry & Family
