Irene Jane Maduck died peacefully on Boxing Day at the age of 73 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Tony (1985) and Annie (2000). She is survived by her brother Nick (Lorraine) Maduck, Calgary and her nieces and nephews, Dana (Ralph) Tigner, Calgary; Sean Maduck (Molly), Lafayette, California; Erin (Brett) Elofson, Toronto; and Joel Maduck (Karen Jardine), San Jose, California. She is also survived by nine great- nieces and nephews and many members of her large extended family. Developmentally delayed from birth, Irene had family and many other people assisting her in most areas of her life. The family would particularly like to thank Doris Kruger (and her family), Irene's loving supportive roommate for nearly eight years. As Irene's health declined, she moved into long term care (2009) and the family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from all of the staff on Heartland and Three South, Bethany Care Centre. Special thanks to Barbara George and Toni Finot for being special friends and companions while Irene lived at Bethany. Funeral will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Yorkton, SK at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 12. She will be laid to rest beside her parents in Yorkton.
