Irma Linton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2017.

On Sunday, November 5, 2017, Irma M. Linton (nee Hanrahan) passed away at 92. She was the beloved wife of the late William M. Linton who was former House Minority Leader for the Maryland House of Delegates and former Baltimore County Councilman; devoted mother of Thomas M. Linton, Sr., and wife Michele Linton (nee Schreiber) , Amy D. Smith, and the late Gail D. Linton; cherished grandmother of Thomas M. Linton, Jr., Davis N. Linton and wife Angela Linton, Benjamin T. Smith, Jacob L. Smith, and Spencer R. Smith, and loving great-grandmother of Kendall, Bryce, and Chase Linton. Also survived by her sister Edna Sokel and her husband Edwin Sokel. Predeceased by her brother Charles Irvin Hanrahan. Mrs. Linton was very involved in political events, horse racing, and charitable events. She owed her longevity to being an active "Golden Girl", dancing at senior events well into her 70s. She was also an active participant in raising her grandsons. Details in regards to a memorial service will be posted at a later time. Memory tributes may be sent to the family at: www.evansfuneralchapel.com.
