ISABEL GAY Obituary
(nee Fraser)
1926 - 2014
After much time and multiple afflictions, peacefully at sleep with a smile and at home with family, December 3, 2014. Born in Halifax, to Marjorie (Curran) and Hugh Fraser, predeceased by brother Col. Douglas Fraser RCEME, Korea, and sister June in 1932. Beloved wife of Dr. Brian Gay. Loving mother of Leslie, David, Rhys and Robert. Proud grandmother to Trevor, Nicholas, Sarah and Rachel. An anchor and pillar of strength, serenity, dignity for the family. She guided her husband through his medical- surgical career in Eatonia, Saskatchewan, Philadelphia, and Ottawa while raising a family. She worked at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, a pianist-organist of note, member of I.O.D.E, a monarchist, Anglican, interior decorator, never denigrated anyone, active at charity, a superlative homemaker. Forever missed. Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Service and Interment will be held at Beechwood Cemetery in the Spring. Dr. Gay,
It is with sadness that I recently learned of Mrs. Gay's passing. I have fond memories of her kind and giving nature. By all measures she was a true lady of character. My condolences and deepest sympathy to you and your family.
