I'm so sad about Joe's loss and the loss that Sandy, Brian, Mark, Scott, Kevin, spouses, and grandkids feel. Joe was the sweetest man to just be around. He was always friendly, loving, funny, and a little crazy which just made being with him a good time. I always remember how Eva was shy when she was little yet around Joe she would sit and talk with him and just liked being with him. I love this photo of him and will always remember him with a smile. God bless him and the family. Hugs and prayers

Linda and I are deeply saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Always liked him, and have very fond memories of hunting rabbits on the farm wiht him. Joe taught me how to squeeze a tea bag without getting my fingers wet and I think of that often. I will miss him.

As I learned of the passing of Joe my heart broke. He was such an amazing man who always had a smile on his face. I have so many memories of him from the earliest of my childhood into my adulthood. Those memories will forever be in my heart. I am an avid Redskins fan because of Joe Clawson. He loved his Skins!! He will surely be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to Sandy, Bryan, Scott, Mark and Kevin and all his extended family.

You will be missed! We will always remember our trips (FL, the elevator, and parking tram at Universal; dinner train ride in the fall; water rafting on the Potomac; and cabbage and pepper picking in PA). Great times (card playing in Springfield, going to casinos and Los Vegas). With each changing season, and blooming flowers, we'll be thinking of you. Love you--Sis and Tony

We lost a kind and gentle soul this week. I am so blessed and grateful to have known and had JC in my life as a second father, a grandfather (pop pop) to all my children and as a true friend. I will miss you terribly JC, but I will carry you with me with me ievery spring day, on every opening day and in every sunset, as I know you will be there looking down giving us all a wink and a nod. Love you JC ❤ Jane Wayne-

To the family: I am so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts. Praying for entire family. He's in a better place.
To Joe: I'll never forget all those memories playing cards almost every weekend. You and Butch can't cheat up there lol. So when Sandy and I join you again it's got to be fair. Will miss you! I still carry this nickname you gave me!

JC was a good man, family man, friend, and trout fisherman. May he be fishing in the big trout lake in Heaven. God's gain, is our loss. We will miss him here on earth. Until we meet again my friend and father figure.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing, but Bill did tell us recently of his health problems & knew he was sure suffering. I have only good memories of Joe coming to visit & always laughing with us. I know Cork, Nora Jean, & certainly Louie were all waiting to welcome him home. We love our Gertie & Sandy & are saddened by all of the changes we have gone through these last few years. Miss you all terribly. Love always, your Footedale family.

We were blessed to spend these last few days with JC and were able to say our good byes. So many families don't get that opportunity. He was such a wonderful man, father, and grandfather. I told JC that we will take care of his wife of 50 years - Sandbox, his beloved cat - Whitey, and that I would be eternally grateful to him for raising such a wonderful man - Scott, the love of my life. JC - we love you and will miss you!

We lost a loving husband, father, brother, and pop pop! He will forever be in our hearts and our memories. He was more a father to me than my own. I will always be grateful to him for stepping in and filling such an important role in my life and the lives of our kids. We love you and miss you JC!
