James Deel Obituary
He retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonah and Lucy Deel, and a sister, Kathy Hubbard.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Deel; a son, Steven Deel and his wife Doris of Coeburn; two daughters, Sherry Deel of Coeburn and Susan Bolling and her husband Neil of Coeburn; a brother, Bruce Deel of Coeburn; three sisters, Bonnie Hubbard, Mary Baker, both of Nicklesville, and Joan Sanders of Jonesville, Va.; four grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Patrick and Kayla; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, 310 6th Street N.W., Coeburn, with Pastor Jerry D. Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends Monday 5-7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in the Deel Cemetery, Wise, with military graveside rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
