HOUSE Janet M. Janet M. House, 89, of Fremont, died on Tuesday evening, January 29, 2008, at Parkview Care Center, Fremont. She was born on December 20, 1918, in Toledo to the now deceased Marcus and Ada (Calkins) Campbell. Janet was a graduate of Scott High School in Toledo and the Northwest Ohio School of Nursing in 1965. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary in Toledo, a Volunteer for American Red Cross, Hospice Volunteer and the Hayes Presidential Center. Janet was also a member of the Golden Threads of Memorial Hospital and visited shut-ins from St. Joseph Parish, Fremont. On October 9, 1938, she married Frank S. House and he preceded her in death in 1962. Janet was a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital until retiring in 1985. After retiring from nursing, Janet moved to Fremont and lived with her daughter, Sue (Jim) Hammer for 15 years. In 2000, she moved to Parkview where she was the official "greeter" and had served as president of the Resident Council for 5 years. She was a loving wife and mother. Surviving are her daughter, Sue (Jim) Hammer of Fremont and son, Frank L. House of Ottawa Lake, MI; four grandchildren, Kathy Hammer Swartz of Sterling Heights, MI, Tom (Mary Jo) Hammer of Fremont, Kristi House Fox of Perrysburg, OH, Jeffery House of Ruth, NV; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church parish hall due to the renovations to the church, Rev. David Brunning will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society c/o Relay for Life, Parkview Team or to the Golden Threads of Memorial Hospital.
