Mrs. Janis White went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her son Barry White, her two brothers, Fred Blue of Moncure, N. C., Dr. Donald Blue, MD of New Iberia, La.; two sisters Ruby Watson of Sandford, N. C. and Ernestine B. Sadberry of Wilmington, N. C.; sisters-in- law Mary Jones of Delaware, Gloria Blue of Moncure, N. C. Debbie Blue of New Iberia, La.; two brothers-in-law David and Ronald White of Charlotte, N. C. ; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Larry White, mother Lula Blue, father Josephus Blue, brothers Roosevelt and David Blue. Honorable mention of the Anderson family Hoboken, N. J.
Janis was born to Josephus and Lula Blue Oct 17, 1933 in Wilson N. C. She attended college at Oakwood College and subsequently Jersey State Teachers College. She obtained a double Masters Degree in Education. She taught in the New Jersey School District for 35 years before she was forced to retire due to illness. She was a beloved teacher and mother. She was awarded many commendations for her dedication to her students and work. She was married to Clinton White (deceased).
Janis was dedicated to God, family, and her church. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her even during her prolonged illness. She never let her illness rob her of her love for God, family and church.
She will be sorely missed by all who had a chance to know her. Heaven has been enhanced this year by this dedicated servant.
