Janko Pozek, 88, of Avon, passed away on April 13, 2023. Janko was born to the late Ferdinand & Meria Pozek on February 13, 1935 in Slovenia. Janko was a Master Carpenter who took pride in his work, and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed his flower & vegetable gardens. Janko met his wife, Josefina while country line dancing and never looked back! He loved a good steak and enjoyed trying out new Steakhouse’s in our area. Many times, he was joined by his granddaughter’s and enjoyed their company. Janko had a great love of life and his family, played a mean game of Euchre, was a Black Belt in Karate and played Soccer until age wouldn’t allow him to do so any longer. He had some heartaches that were never repaired and survived many hardships, including being a Refugee from Yugoslavia (Solvenia) after WWII, but it can never be said that he didn’t live life to the fullest, because he certainly did. He will be greatly missed by all.
Janko is survived by his loving wife; Josefina Pozek, daughters; Katrina (Joe) Matthews & Angi (Kevin) Sullivan, grandchildren; Julianna Jones, Abigail (Justin) Lewis, Kaleb Sullivan, Addison Sullivan, Maereed (Gage) Hollandbeck, Anslie Sullivan & Ameila Sullivan, great-grandchildren; Denver, Ren & Ellie, along with sisters; Mayda & Slavica.
Janko is preceded in death by his siblings; Ferdinand, Bojan, & Silva.
