Jean Marie Corbett

Corbett, Jean Marie (Collette) Jean Marie (Collette) Corbett, 57, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away February 7, 2018. Jean was born March 15, 1960, in Columbia, TN & raised in Rolla, Mo. A graduate of South East Missouri State University, she played varsity basketball, and was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Upon graduation, she married Bill Corbett of St. Louis, Missouri at the Old Cathedral in the shadow the St. Louis Gateway Arch among her many friends and relatives. Helping Bill navigate a professional career, she lived in New Orleans, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and New York. In 1999 her passion for boating and horse racing resulted in maintaining a home on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, AR. The perfect day would include a lengthy afternoon with family and her legion of friends visiting from around the USA on Lake Hamilton followed by an outdoor BBQ and the Cardinals baseball game. She played the great golf courses of Scotland, sailed the seas in Barbados, relaxed on the sidewalk cafes of Paris, and spent a great deal of time spoiling her beloved Jack Russell terrier, Shanahan. She is a partner in Bourbon Lane Stables, a thoroughbred ownership group of Midway, KY. A true 'Sweetheart of Sigma Chi', she is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bill; mother, Alice Collette; sister, Susan Collette; brothers, Steve (Mary) & John (Karen) Collette; brothers-in- law, Tom (Dolly) Corbett of St. Louis, Jim (Tammy) Corbett of Padre Island, TX; sister-in law, Mary (Brian) Nagle of Boynton Beach, Florida; 13 nieces and nephews; and closest friends Kathy Guccione of Encino, CA & Sharon Meinkoth of Belleville, IL. As God wraps his strong arms around her, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to fight Neuroblastoma and pediatric cancer in honor of Rhyan Loos to: Rally for Rhyan 4308 Montpelier Pl., Columbia, MO 65203. A memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled in April to celebrate Jean's life and to share with her many friends and family on her favorite day, the Arkansas Derby.
