Jerome S. Batog

Batog, Jerome S. 2/2/1944 - 3/15/2023 Rockford, MI Mr. Jerome Stephen Batog, age 79, of Rockford, MI passed away Thursday, March 15, 2023. He was born in Grand Rapids on February 2, 1944, to Steven and Tillie (Wojczynski) Batog. Mr. Batog graduated from Union High School in Grand Rapids. He was employed in the warehouse for Meijer, Inc. for over 43 years, until his retirement in 2010. Jerome married the former Christine Kay Long in Grand Rapids on November 26, 1965. He enjoyed bowling, having received several awards, and spent time on the waters fishing. Jerome also was a union steward. Mr. Batog served his country during the Viet Nam Era with the U.S. Navy. Jerome is survived by his wife Christine Batog; two sons, David (Dena) Batog and Michael (Carrie) Batog; three grandchildren, Jacob Batog, Nicole (Zack) Davis and Aaron Batog; two sisters, Margaret Stevens and Linda Bart. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Carol Brooks. The graveside service for Mr. Batog will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Rockford Cemetery, with the United States Navy and the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors.
