Jimmy Green Obituary
Clyde - Jimmy Lee Green, age 77, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at his residence.
A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Thurman and Doshie Stamey Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Green of Murphy. Jimmy retired from the Town of Clyde with 53 years of service, and was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Mackey Green; two sons, Kevin Lee Green and his wife, Dalal, of California, Maryland and Brian Keith Green and his wife, Tammy, of Clyde; four sisters, Louise Teague and her husband, Leon, of Clyde, Mary Lou Buchner of Candler, Beatrice Lloyd of Conover and Lucille Swanger and her husband, Bob, of Clyde; six grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife, Hailey, Elizabeth and her husband, Billy, Savannah, Seth, Andrew and Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Aria and Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Dellwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Four Seasons Hospice of Flat Rock for their excellent care and to all the special family and friends who helped during Jimmy's illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dellwood Baptist Church Youth Summer Camp Fund, 115 Hall Drive, Waynesville, NC 28785 or Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allens Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

Jimmy was a friend who could be counted on when needed. He did so much for my mom and dad over the years without being asked. Peggy and Jimmy made the years my dad was mayor of Clyde a blessing for all. I think often of all the fun we had growing up in Clyde. Sports, friendships or just hanging out were really neat times. There just not too many Jimmy Green's being made anymore
