Sandy and I are extremely sad to hear of Joan's passing. She was a wonderful, wonderful individual. I remember many, many things -- including her elegant tea serving at the annual Ojai Tennis Tournament and her service on the board and as an officer of the Cal Alumni Club of Ventura County. Joan will be dearly missed. Norm, our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Joan was such an exceptional human being. Ken often worked quite closely with her during their time together at CLU. I appreciated her kind heart,... and her novels! She was definitely one of a kind. Norman, blessings and peace to you.

Joan was a wonderful colleague and mentor. She led the development of the Counseling and Guidance Programs at Cal Lutheran University, paving the way to prepare hundreds of school counselors and college student personnel professionals in our region. She will be sorely missed.
My condolences to Norm and the rest of her family.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Joan Blacher. I remember her fondly as a colleague and friend. She has touched the lives of many throughout her esteemed career as teacher and counselor. She was the ultimate professional; dedicated, compassionate, and caring. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and a love of travel, tennis, College football and music. Joan will be greatly missed.
