Joan Patricia Evans, 78, passed away Saturday, January 06, 2018, at her residence in Forest. She was the wife of the late James Howard Evans, Jr. She was born August 2, 1939, in Crumpler, WV, to the late Charles Bascum Jones and the late Ibiline Meadows Jones.

Joan was a fulltime homemaker, a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wayne Evans.

Joan is survived by her children, Sarah Swecker, her husband Mark of St. Paul and their children, Tyler and Evan; Mark H. Evans, his wife Suzanne of Lynchburg and their children, Anna and Katie; Teresa Hailey, her husband Kevin of Lynchburg and their children, Jesse and Jacob; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Evans of Forest and her children, Kristen (Matt), Kaitlyn (Zach), Klaire and Aaron; three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Hazel and Liam; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends.

A private service will be conducted with the family, per Joan's request.
