Jodell Ruth Rabe

Jodell Ruth Rabe, 89, left us on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
She was born in Boulder, Colo., and educated in Boulder and Greeley, Colo. During World War II she worked as a commercial artist for the Boulder newspaper and met her future husband, Fred N. Rabe, who preceded her in death. She became an Air Force wife, moving throughout the United States, the Marianna Islands and Europe. Her career was focused on the Air Force missions of the time and she retired with 32 years of service as a GS-6 with the U.S. Air Force Tactical Air Warfare Center/LG, Eglin Air Force Base. She continued to travel throughout the United States, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. She also was an avid ballroom dancer and a crossword master.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: daughter, Karen and Sid Saunders of Destin, Fla.; and her son, Rick and Cindy Rabe of St. Cloud, Fla. Jodell was a proud grandmother of Jon Saunders and Doug Saunders, his wife, Tiffani, and a great-grandmother of Sidney Ruth Saunders.
Private inurnment services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., at a future date.
