Joel Thomas Knight

KERSHAW – Funeral services for Joel Thomas Knight, 52 of Kershaw will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson. The Rev. Terry Corder will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic rites.
Mr. Knight died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Wesley Leverne Knight and Betsy Byrd Knight. He was a welder and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Mr. Knight was a member of Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge No. 6, where he had served as past master. He was also a member of Shriners, Knight Templar, Scottish Rite, Traveling Men, Charles Prince and Eastern Star. Mr. Knight was an avid Clemson fan. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his father and mother of Kershaw, are his wife of 14 years, Ann Johnson Knight; his son, Jason Thomas Knight and his wife, Brandy Byrdic Knight of Lancaster; his stepson, Robert Keith Evans and his fiancé, Amanda Peters of Covington, Ga.; his stepdaughter, Susan Evans, of Kershaw; four grandchildren, Jordyn Knight, Jaxon Knight, Brady Knight and Nevaeh Evans; his brother, Roddy Knight and his wife, Sharon; his sister, Monica Pardue and her husband, Jackie, all of Kershaw; nephews and nieces, Daniel, Josh, Jackie, William and Kristi, and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Johnson of Covington.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Baker Funeral Home.
