Joel Mooneyham Sr.

MIDVILLE, Ga. - Joel Stephen Mooneyham, Sr., 69, passed away at his residence, Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was a native of Jenkins County and a longtime resident of Burke County. He was a member of the Midville First Baptist Church and was a former Account Executive with Coca-Cola Bottling Company and sales associate with Sunbelt Nissan. Joel was a people person who never met a stranger, quick with a joke and will be missed by all who loved him. Surviving are: his three children, Joel S. Mooneyham, Jr. and wife Trisha of Waynesboro, Shelly Wall and husband Ed Hutchison of Augusta and Jason Mooneyham of Augusta; his brother, H.A. Mooneyham Jr. and wife Evelyn of Midville, his sisters, Elaine M. Sikes of Midville and her late husband Herman Sikes, Mary M. Simpson and husband Marvin of Graham, N.C.; his grandchildren, Brittany Mooneyham of Charleston, S.C., Emily, Ethan and Samantha Mooneyham all of Waynesboro, Dylan Wall of Augusta and eleven nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson- Saxon-Prescott Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Midville First Baptist Church with the Dr. Terry Quick and Reverend Ray Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Midville First Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro Building Fund.
