A Reminiscence

YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.

May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.

Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

They say there is a reason ,
they say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason ,
will change the way we feel.
For no one knows the heartache ,
that lies behind our smiles,
No one knows how many times ,
we broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something
so there won't be any doubt ,
your wonderful to think of ,
but hard to do without.
We cannot bring the old days back ,
when we were all together,
The family chain is broken now ,
But memories live forever.

We love and miss you and 'M' Moer and more each day , untill we meet again

love you so much

IN MEMORY OF OUR LOVING DAD
D

A GIFT IN THIS WORLD SO PRECIOUS AND RARE,
IS THE LOVE A FATHER AND DAUGHTER SHARE ,
WE SHARED THIS LOVE DAD YOU AND I ,
FROM THE DAY I WAS BORN TILL THE DAY YOU DIED,
FORGIVE ME LORD IF I ASK WHY YOU BROKE MY HEART AND LET HIM DIE,
HE WAS A GOOD MAN, KIND AND TRUE,
BUT NOW DAD I ONLY HAVE MEMORIES OF YOU.

' JUST LET ME DRIFT AWAY '

JUST LET ME DRIFT AWAY INTO THE STARY NIGHT.

I'M DIMING,I'M DIMING,I'M DIMING JUST LIKE A SHINING LIGHT.

JUST SAY YOU'LL NEVER FORGET ME.

TRY TO TALK TO ME OR SING A LITTLE SONG.

December 4, 2008

IT'S LIKE A HOLE WITH NO BOTTOM
A HILL WITH NO TOP
A ROAD WITH NO BEND
A NIGHT WITH NO END .

IT'S AS IF IT'S NOT HAPPENED
IT'S AS IF IT'S NOT TRUE
IT'S AS IF IT'S A DREAM
YET THE NUMBNESS SEEPS THROUGH.

THERE'S A FEELING OF EMPTINESS
A GAP TO BE FILLED
THERE'S A FEELING OF LONLINESS
THAT CANNOT BE STILLED .

THEY SAY TIME'S A HEALER
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ?
I CAN'T SEE IT ENDING
IT'S A PERMENENT ACHE.

LIFE HAS NO MEANING
YET IT HAS TO GO ON
I FIND IT SO HARD
TO FEEL SO ALONE.

NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW
THE DEPTH OF MY SORROW
I JUST HAVE TO TRUST
THERE'LL BE A BETTER TO-MORROW.

MAY GOD GIVE ME STRENGHT
TO KEEP ON GOING
TO GET THROUGH THIS
PAIN
TO FEEL REAL AGAIN.

I'LL NEVER GET OVER IT
OF THAT I AM SURE
BUT I'LL GIVE TIME A CHANCE
AND HOPE FOR A CURE.

TIME'S WITHOUT END
LOVE IS TOO
I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU
I'LL ALWAYS MISS YOU.

GOD LOOKED AROUND HIS GARDEN,
AND FOUND AN EMPTY PLACE,
HE THEN LOOKED DOWN UPON THE EARTH,
AND SAW YOUR TIRED FACE.

HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU,
AND LIFTED YOU TO REST,
GODS GARDEN MUST BE BEAUTIFUL,
HE ALWAYS TAKES THE BEST.

HE SAW THE ROAD WAS GETTING ROUGH,
AND THE HILLS WERE HARD TO CLIMB,
SO HE CLOSED YOUR WEARY EYELIDS,
AND WHISPERED " PEACE BE THINE ".

IT BROKE OUR HEARTS TO LOSE YOU
BUT YOU DID'NT GO ALONE ,
FOR PART OF US WENT WITH YOU,
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE .

November 27, 2008

WE MISS YOU !

WE MISS YOUR SMILE
YOUR JOKING WAYS,
WE MISS THE THINGS
YOU USED TO SAY,
AND WHEN OLD TIMES
WE DO RECALL,
IT'S WHEN WE
MISS YOU MOST OF ALL

November 27, 2008

IT WAS A SUDDEN PARTING,
TO BITTER TO FORGET,
THOSE WHO LOVED YOU DEARLY ,
ARE THE ONES WHO CAN'T FORGET.

WE OFTEN SIT AND THINK OF YOU ,
AND THINK OF HOW YOU DIED,
TO THINK YOU COULD NOT SAY GOODBYE ,
BEFORE YOU CLOSED YOUR EYES.

YOUR LIFE WAS ONE OF KINDLY DEEDS,
A HELPING HAND FOR OTHERS NEEDS ,
SINCERE AND TRUE IN HEARTS AND MIND,
BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES LEFT BEHIND .

WE LOST A FATHER WITH A HEART OF GOLD,
HOW MUCH WE MISS HIM
CAN NEVER BE TOLD.
HE SHARED OUR TROUBLES,
AND HELPED US ALONG,
IF WE FOLLOW HIS FOOTSTEPS
WE WILL NEVER GO WRONG.

YOU LEFT BEHIND SOME ACHING HEARTS,
THAT LOVED YOU MOST SINCERE,
THAT NEVER CAN AND NEVER WILL
FORGET YOU FATHER DEAR !

TO THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH !

OUR FAMILY CHAIN IS BROKEN

OUR FAMILY CHAIN IS BROKEN
AND NOTHING SEEMS THE SAME
BUT AS GOD CALLS US ONE BY ONE
THE LINKS SHALL JOIN AGAIN.

A LIGHT IS FROM OUR HOUSEHOLD GONE
A VOICE WE LOVED IS STILLLED
A PLACE IS VACANT IN OUR HEARTS
WHICH NEVER CAN BE FILLED.

A BOUQUET OF BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES
SPRAYED WITH A MILLION TEARS
WISHING GOD COULD HAVE SPARED YOU
IF JUST FOR A FEW MORE YEARS.

I MISS YOU FROM YOUR FAVOURITE CHAIR
YOUR LOVING SMILE AND GENTLE AIR
YOUR VACANT PLACE NO-ONE CAN FILL
WE MISS YOU NOW AND ALWAYS WILL.

ALWAYS IN OUR MEMORY

NO FUTHER AWAY THAN A PICTURE ,
A SMILE OR REMEMBERED PHRASE,
OUR LOVED ONE LIVES IN MEMORY,
SO CLOSE IN MANY WAYS.

FOR HOW OFTEN DOES A SUNSET,
BRING NOSTALGIC THOUGHTS TO MIND,
OF MOMENTS THAT OUR
LOVED ONE SHARED ,
IN DAYS NOW LEFT BEHIND.

HOW OFTEN HAS A FLOWER,
OR A CRYSTAL SUMMER SKY,
BROUGHT GOLDEN REFLECTIONS,
OF HAPPY TIMES GONE BY !

YES MEMORY HAS A MAGIC WAY, OF KEEPING LOVED ONES NEAR,
EVER CLOSE IN MIND AND HEART,
ARE THE ONES WE HOLD MOST DEAR.

FRIDAY 26TH SEPT 2008

FOR 'OUR' DAD

IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO PUT INTO A FEW LINES , OR A FEW MINUTES HOW MUCH THIS GIANT OF A MAN MEANT TO US , AND TO ALL OF YOU,

HE WAS A VERY PROUD FAMILY MAN , A DEVOTED SON, BROTHER , UNCLE, FATHER, GRANDAD AND A HUSBAND , WHO TOOK HIS WEDDING VOWS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.........

SADLEY AFTER LOSING HIS SOULMATE AND OUR MUM LAST YEAR HIS LIGHT INSIDE BEGAN TO FLICKER AND FADE AND HIS BROKEN HEART COULD'NT TAKE ANY MORE OF BEING ALONE,

I'D LIKE TO THINK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US CAN NEVER FORGET HIS WARMTH , HIS SMILE, HIS LARGER THAN LIFE PERSONALITY AND HOW HE'D ALWAYS PUT YOU AT EASE IF YOU WERE 7 YEARS OLD OR 97 YEARS OLD .

HE WAS ALWAYS PROUD TO BE CALLED AS HE PUT IT
' AN ADOPTED HASLINGDEENER '

GOD BLESS AND LOVE YOU ALWAYS ,
YOU WILL BE TODAY , TOMORROW AND ALWAYS OUR SPECIAL' DAD '

LOTS OF LOVE FROM ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO ARE MISSING YOU ALREADY,

MY SPECIAL GRANDAD

ALWAYS A SMILE ,
NEVER A TEAR ,
EVEN WHEN THE TIME WAS NEAR,
SO BRAVE SO PROUD ,
AND DIGNIFIED TOO,
THIS GRANDAD IS MY TRIBUTE TO YOU.

IN MY HEART,
SINCE THE DAY THAT YOU DID PART,
THE MEMORIES , THE LAUGHS ,
THE BAD JOKES TOO,

BUT YOU WERE NEVER ONE TO BOAST,
THE SUN THE SEA,
THE SUNSET TOO,
WONDERFUL PLACES FOR A WONDERFUL YOU.

THE THINGS YOU ACHIEVED,

AND NOW THIS TIME THE ANGELS
HAVE COME,

YOU MENT THE WORLD TO ALL OF US ,AND ALTHOUGH WE NEVER REALLY KNEW , YOUR DEAR HEART WAS BROKEN , FROM THE DAY THAT 'M' LEFT YOU.

THERE IS NOT ONE DAY GOES BY , THAT I LOOK UP INTO THE SKY, AND I BREAK MY HEART AND CRY.

YOU REALLY WERE OUR HEART AND SOUL,
WE HAVE SO MANY MEMORIES OF TIMES WE SPENT WITH YOU,

WE WOULD GO OUT FOR A DRINK , ALWAYS JUST 'A FEW '
THE LAUGHS , THE FUN , THE HAPPY TIMES WHEN WE WERE ALL TOGETHER , DO YOU THINK WE WILL EVER FORGET YOU , NEVER .

YOU WERE A MAN ABOVE ALL THE REST,
WE LOVED YOU OH SO VERY MUCH , YOU WERE THE VERY BEST !

YOU TAUGHT US SO MANY VALUBLE LESSONS ABOUT LIFE , AND PEOPLE , YOU SAW THE BEST IN EVERY ONE AND ALWAYS GAVE PEOPLE A CHANCE .

WE WERE ALWAYS VERY PROUD OF YOU , YOU WERE OUR DEAREST FRIEND WHY DID YOUR TIME COME TO AN END .

WE MISS YOU OH SO VERY MUCH AND OH SO DESPERATELY,
EACH DAY THAT NOW PASSES BY WE BOTH STILL LOOK TO SEE , YOUR HUGE SMILING FACE , THE LOOKS YOU USE TO GIVE , THE SOUND OF YOUR LAUGH , WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

YOU REALLY WERE OUR SPECIAL FRIEND , OUR OWN BELOVED ' D '

YOU ARE COMPLETLY IRRIPLACEABLE
NO ONE CAN FILL YOUR SHOES
ALL OUR DAYS ARE DULLER , SINCE OUR LOSS OF YOU.

WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND MISS YOU BOTH AND EACH DAY THINK OF YOU.

SLEEP WELL !

GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED,
AND A CURE WAS NOT TO BE,
SO HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU AND 'WHISPERED, COME TO ME '

WITH TEARFULL EYES WE WATCHED YOU ,
AND SAW YOU FADE AWAY,
AND ALTHOUGH WE LOVED YOU DEARLY ,
WE NEW YOU COULD NOT STAY.

A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING ,
HARD WORKING HANDS AT REST ,

GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE TO US HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST !

ANN CARRICK WILSON

November 25, 2008

A GOLDEN HEART STOPPED BEATING ,
HARD WORKING HANDS AT REST,
IT BROKE OUR HEARTS TO SEE YOU GO ,
GOD ONLY TAKES THE BEST

THEY SAY THAT MEMORIES ARE GOLDEN,
WELL MAYBE THAT IS TRUE,
BUT WE NEVER WANTED MEMORIES,
WE ONLY WANTED YOU.

YOUR LIFE WAS LOVE AND LABOUR,
YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR FAMILY TRUE,
YOU DID YOUR BEST FOR ALL OF US,
WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU.

WE SAT BESIDE YOUR BEDSIDE ,
OUR HEARTS WERE CRUSHED AND SORE ,
WE DID OUR DUTY TO THE END ,
TIL WE COULD DO NO MORE .

IN TEARS WE WATCHED YOU SINKING ,
WE WATCHED YOU FADE AWAY,
AND THOUGH OUR HEARTS WERE BREAKING ,
WE KNEW YOU COULD NOT STAY.

OUR LIPS CANNOT SPEAK HOW WE LOVED YOU,
OUR HEARTS CANNOT TELL WHAT TO SAY,
BUT GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW WE MISS YOU,
IN OUR HOME THAT IS LONELY TODAY.
