John T. de Jong

After a brave 20 month battle with cancer, John died peacefully at home next to his loving daughter Lauren and son-in-law Ryan. We may find solace in the fact he is now able to join his beloved wife Susan who passed away this past February. John was also predeceased by parents Thomas and Anna de Jong (nee Koistra). He leaves behind daughter Lauren (Ryan), grandchildren Jackson, Brandon, and Nick, sisters Marie (John) and Annemarie (Allan) as well as several other dear extended family members. Also sharing in our grief are many wonderful friends. We would like to thank Dr Peter Edmunds and the palliative care team as well as the oncology staff at Lions Gate Hospital. A reception to remember John's life will be held at 6pm on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at the Hollyburn Country Club, 950 Crosscreek Rd. in West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
