JOHN HOERR

HOERR--John P., III, 84, of Middleboro, MA, died June 21. He was a journalist who specialized in labor - management relations and labor history. He was the author of "And The Wolf Finally Came: The Decline of the American Steel Industry," "We Can't Eat Prestige: The Women Who Tamed Harvard," and "Harry, Tom, and Father Rice: Accusation and Betrayal in America's Cold War." He also wrote "Monongahela Dusk," a historical novel. He had been a labor reporter and editor for Business Week magazine. He was born in McKeesport, PA, and was a graduate of Penn State University. A memorial will be held in Pittsburgh.
