Johnnie Gasaway Baker, 86, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at his residence.He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Emma Jane Baker; brothers, Jeff Baker, Noah Baker, E.B. Baker and Ronald Baker; sisters, Lois Jay and Marie Wilson.Mr. Baker was a member of Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII.Survivors include his wife, Edith Hall Baker, of the residence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Steve Watkins and Ellen and Mike Beason, all of Tunnel Hill; two sisters, Dartha Henderson of Rocky Face and Margaret Suddeth of Dalton; sister-in-law, Mildred Baker of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Jason and Lesli Talley, Mark and Greta Beckler, Nick and Stacy Beason and Patrick Beason; great-grandchildren, Evie Beason, Jase Talley and Jackson Beckler; nieces and nephews. The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Hutto, the Rev. Fred White and Mike Beason officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Valley Cemetery. Pall bearers will be David Addis, Jerry Cook, Bill Gowin, Kenneth Harrison, Buddy Helton, and Steve Watkins.Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 S.
