My condolences on your loss. He always told it exactly the way it was. Lake County certainly lost a stubborn watchdog with the loss of his letters to the editor. He will be sorely missed.

I have met many people but it was Mr. Harkin (Doug) who inspired me and had great influence in my life. He was an incredible, gifted human being. I was blessed to have known him. May he find happiness in heaven much like the happiness he gave to others here on earth. He is gone but he lives through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My sincere sympathy goes to Cecelia and the family. Love,
Linda Scartozzi
