Josephine Mirasolo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 10, 2023.

MIRASOLO, Josephine (Joann) Ann of Clinton Township; born August 2, 1963; age 59. Passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on February 7, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Jean (Tomenello) Mirasolo. Joann was very athletic and independent. She enjoyed the outdoors, biking, hiking and kayaking, as much as she could, throughout her illness. She loved taking good care of her cats, Talulah and Sylvester. Her dog, Leopold, had a very special place in her heart. Joann was a registered dietitian and helped many people learn to live the healthy lifestyle that she did. Faith was very important to Joann and she will be greatly missed by her church family at Woodside Bible Church, in Troy. Joann is survived by many cousins as well as her beloved Godson, Samuel. Joann maintained many close friendships with a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly and will miss her very much.

Memorial Service 10 am, Monday, February 20th at Woodside Bible Church, Troy.

I met Joann while I was on leave from the Army in 1985. I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. I told her I only had 3 months to go and I would be discharged for good. She waited for me and we dated for about a year. We had so much fun together. I will never forget I picked her up one evening and told her I was taking her back to my place and cooking her dinner. She was so thrilled until she saw what I had prepared for her. FISH STICKS! We laughed and she made fun of my fish sticks! We were only 23. Joann’s dad and her dog Napoleon were a giant part of her life. I am very sad to see that she passed. She was a very special person and had the best smile. I will always love you Joann. Thanks for the best memories when we were young.❤

Joann and I were together for about 5 years. I am so sad that such a beating soul has left us. She was always an amazing woman and she will be mused dearly.

I was Joann’s boyfriend in the early 90’s. We dated I think 5-6 years. I met her on a bike tour in which she loved to do. She was full of energy and loved life and her dog sheep dog Napoleon. We had so much fun together on bike tours and other adventures. Her dad Mathew was a hoot too. I did not know of her passing as our lives separated. I am sorry that I missed her funeral. But prayers have been given to her and I know she is with her mom and dad. She is in a better place. RIP Joann❤

Joann, Joann. This is hard to believe. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and church. You came to my mine on Saturday and I begin to Google your name to see if I could track you down just to say "hi". I wasn't expecting to see an obituary. I knew you worked DMC. I just wanted to see how you were doing. We worked at the same hospital in the 80's. They hired Joann to fill the position I was in. I moved to another position. Joann and I became good friends. She didn't care about the color of my skin. Joann loved to laugh and we would laugh until we cried just talking about life. She told me how she lost her mom and was helping her dad out. She moved on to new jobs but we were able to keep in touch. I am so sad but happy to see she belonged to this great church. How awesome!! REST IN HEAVEN JOANN. YOUR FRIEND, Gloria

Although God chose to heal you completely and to take you home, we now see that the world is a little darker without you in it. No matter what you were going through while you were with us, you always had a smile on your face that brightened any room you walked into. What a beautiful woman inside and out. We will miss you and we will see you again.

Seems like yesterday you were spinning Christine around the yard. Where does the time go? I am sorry that you had to exit this world so soon. I hope that your Mom and Dad were there to greet you because I know how much you meant to them. I know you will be the glitziest angel flitting around Heaven. Where your wings proud cousin. Blood is always thicker then water!!!!! Fly high on that mountain because your work here on Earth is done.......
