Judith Ann Beck

AURORA < Judith Ann Beck, 68, of Main Street, Aurora, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at University Hospital, Syracuse. Judith was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late George H. and Margaret Ferguson Beck and has resided in Auburn for most of her life. She was a graduate of Elmira College Class of 1961 with a B.A. degree in Political Science. She also graduated from the Cayuga County Community College School of Nursing in 1982, and was employed as a registered nurse with Auburn Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Judith was a member of the Board of Directors of the Aurora Fire Library. She served on the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network and the Schweinfurth Art Center. In addition, she was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, and a communicant of St. Patrick"s Church of Aurora, where she was a member of the Social Ministry Committee. Surviving is one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Dupee of Upper Marlboro, Md.; two nephews, Frank E. Dupee IV and Matthew B. Dupee, both of Upper Marlboro, Md.; several cousins. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial which will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in St. Patrick"s Church, Aurora, with the Rev. Richard J. Shatzel, the pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick"s Cemetery, Aurora. There will be no prior calling hours. The Shakelton Funeral Home of Aurora is in charge of arrangements.
