June Baker 06/18/1933~05/1/2011 June Baker died Sunday, May 1, 2011. She is survived by her sons, Chuck (Paula) Baker, Bob (Stephanie) Baker, Tom (Julie) Baker, and Mike Baker; eight grandchildren and her sisters and brothers in California, Washington DC, and Florida. June lost her husband of 49 years, Charles Baker, in 2004. June will be remembered for her amazing sense of humor. Even in her last year of struggle, she enlivened the lives of all who knew her in the nursing homes. She would often write down jokes and make her companions laugh. June made the best of things; she enjoyed moving to Utah in 1971 and joining the LDS church. She loved her family and would always be shopping to buy things to make people happy. Many thanks to the neighbors and care givers who helped June over the past few years. Funeral services for June will be held on Saturday May 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crescent 24th Ward, 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT, where family and friends may call on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Please leave condolences for the family at www.larkinmortuary.com.

June had a natural good spirit and a good sense of humor that is carried down to her sons and her grandkids. She was very predictable and feisty. She was also independent like her offspring. She did not want others to tell her what to do, she was content to stay at home and watch the Home Shopping Channel. Not many people can be happy most of the time.....she had that gift. She was a happy person....especially when she got what she wanted. We will miss her.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. What a wonderful neat lady she was. I had the opportunity of knowing her for the last 21 years. She was always a bright spot in my week as I had the opportunity to visit with her every Friday for 19 of those years. She loved her family and was always willing to help someone in need. She will truly be missed.
