Karl S. Bauer

KAILUA-KONA, HI Karl S. Bauer died peacefully at his home in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Anderson. Karl was 82 years old. Karl graduated from Hamilton High School, then served for four years in the United States Air Force. After working for many years at Western Union and MCI, Karl retired to Hawaii where he enjoyed sharing his home and beautiful gardens with visiting family and friends over the years. Karl had a natural green thumb and spent his last days lovingly tending to his tropical plants and fruit trees. Born on March 26,1940 in Trenton, New Jersey, Karl was the son of Max and Petronella Bauer. He was predeceased by his siblings Maximillian Bauer, Margaret Bauer, Maryann Born, and Gertrude Pippitt. Karl is survived by his sister, Gretchen Schaeffer. He is also survived by his two children and their families: son Ross Karl Bauer, daughter-in-law Christina Bauer, and grandchildren Jessica Gardner, Beck Bauer, and Kirin Bauer; and daughter Elise Marie Bauer and grandchildren Beatrice and Penelope Clark. Karl also had several nieces and nephews.
