Kay Thompson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6, 2010.
KAY THOMPSON Kay Ellice Thompson, 52, a bookkeeper, of North Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 19, 2010. She was born Dec. 30, 1957, in Davenport, Iowa, and was a 30-year resident of Nevada. Kay met her future husband during the summer of 1990; it was soon after that they became a couple and they were married April 9, 1999. She had many different jobs in her life and excelled at all of them. She was one that never gave up, always wanting to learn something new. She had that same determination in her fight with cancer, but it was to strong for her to defeat. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, John Kyle in 1994; and grandson, Lucas Ruefer in 2010. Kay is survived by her husband, Mark Thompson; son, Kyle Ruefer of North Las Vegas; sisters, Peg Wheeler (Douglas) of Davenport, and Julie of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Ken Kyle (Lisa) of Davenport; mother, Rita Kyle of Mesa; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 3135 S. Rainbow Blvd. Donations can be made to Shade Tree Shelter.

Kay Thompson was like a rare and beautiful flower, the more you saw her and the more often you were around her, then you would realize her true beauty, I will so miss our morning time we had every day, and when us two redheads with the same birthday got together the world was just a better place.. Rest in Peace
