Kenneth Willard Duren

Kenneth W. Duren age 80 of Littleton formerly of Carlisle passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston. Born in Concord, Massachusetts on February 19, 1938 he was the son of the late Samuel and Evelyn (Millis) Duren. Kenneth had many types of work during his life. His first job as a teenager was at Swartz junk yard in Ayer. Kenneth then worked for his father at Duren Motors in Carlisle. Kenneth had a strong belief in giving back to the community. He joined the Carlisle Fire Department where he volunteered for 30 years, he also worked for the Carlisle Department of Public Works and for Taylor & Loyd of Bedford. Ken always wanted to own and operate his own business, he started Bill's small engine repair of Carlisle. Ken and Eleanor moved to Laconia, NH where he enjoyed building homes. They then moved to Littleton, MA where he worked for Mass Hardware as power equipment manager until his retirement. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family camping during the summer in Center Harbor, NH, fishing, water skiing, boating, and meeting new friends. Kenneth also enjoyed the winter season having fun with family and friends snowmobiling every day. Kenneth practiced what he preached, family was first and he lived his life each and every day. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Because of the beautiful person he was he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my dear husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. You will always be in our hearts. Funeral services are private.
