Kerri Moyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 21 to Feb. 22, 2024.
Kerri Rae Moyer, a beacon of creativity and love, left us January 23, 2024, to begin her next adventure on the eternal beachfronts beyond this world. Born on August 4, 1972, in the heart of Warren, OH, Kerri brought a burst of color and laughter into a world that often takes itself too seriously. Her journey on Earth came to a peaceful end at the Continuing Healthcare of Niles, after a valiant dance-off with bile duct and liver cancer.

To say that Kerri was a nail tech is like saying Michelangelo was just a ceiling painter. For 23 years, she sculpted tiny masterpieces at the tips of her clients' fingers, leaving a trail of sparkle and smiles. But her greatest masterpieces weren't made of polish and powder; they were the lives she touched-especially those of her husband Mike Landa, her proudest creation, daughter Brenna Landa, and her ensemble cast of Aunt Terry Yartz, Uncle Tom Yartz, and cousins Mark and Missy Yartz. Let's not forget her lifelong co-stars, Kristin Brochetti and Stacey Workman Lewis, who shared in the comedy that was Kerri's life.

A proud graduate of Newton Falls High School, Kerri went on to dazzle at Raphael's School of Beauty, proving that beauty truly is in the hands of the beholder. Her education extended far beyond the classroom, though, as she mastered the art of being the life of every party and the soul of every gathering.

Kerri's spirit was too vivacious to be contained in one dimension. She was a self-appointed ambassador of the arts, making the world her canvas. Whether she was creating a new piece of art, conjuring magic in the kitchen, or being the most enthusiastic dance mom on the planet, Kerri did it all with a flair that would make even the dullest day feel like Mardi Gras.

And oh, how she loved the beach. You could say the beach was her spiritual home-a place where the sand was her stage and the waves her audience. She'd often say that the best therapy was saltwater-whether it was sweat, tears, or the sea. Kerri's love for the beach was only matched by her love for laughter, and she shared both generously.

Kerri was a comet that blazed through the lives of everyone she met. Creative? That's an understatement. Spirited? As if she was made of pure energy. Loving? Her heart was a boundless ocean, and we were all happily adrift in it. She faced life with the kind of humor that could make even cancer chuckle nervously in her presence.

As we bid farewell to Kerri, let's not forget the lessons she left us: to live with passion, to create with abandon, and to love with all our might. And while she may have exited stage left, her performance as a great mother, friend, and wife will remain a tough act to follow.

So, here's to Kerri Rae Moyer, a woman who lived, laughed, and loved with the best of them. She's probably up there now, organizing a celestial beach party, and you can bet it's the hottest ticket beyond the pearly gates. Curtain call, Kerri. You've earned your standing ovation.

Kerri was preceded in death by her father and mother Denny and Robin Moyer.

I met Kerri when she was five years old. Stacey and Kerri started Kindergarten together. It wasn´t love at first sight but on the second day, a lifelong bond was formed. Kerri´s parents and I worked together so both girls were members of both families. They even had Senior pictures taken together. They were true friends right up to the last breath. They will be best friends forever. My condolences to Kerri´s family and friends. My love and sympathy to Stacey. I´m so proud to be your Mom

As a young girl, but most of all openly welcomed my son into her family. Not realizing he would become her number one fan of her cooking that was truly made for him with love., but the conversations throughout his time visiting the house or the nursing home was priceless to him.
