I met Larry when doing the UND MBA program through ITV. He was a teammate on many projects and was always great. When I saw him around Bismarck it seemed he always had time for a chat, or if not, at least some acknowledgement. I remember him when I am driving through the CHI St. Alexius parking lots as I recall he was involved in their planning. I have grown to understand the changes which were made many years ago. Rest in peace, my friend.

I first met Larry around 1985 when I joined the Bismarck-Mandan Tennis Association's summer leagues and we remained good friends for more than 35 years. When I retired, Larry invited me into his doubles group and we played tennis every Thursday, and sometimes on Fridays, for more than three years. We always had a great time and called him "Lucky Larry." I was waiting for him on the courts when I heard about his death. I will miss Larry as will many others.

One of my favorite memories with Larry was when we teamed up for the Prarie Rose State Games in Minot. I don't remember the year, but it was a looong time ago. Since we hadn't played much doubles together before this, we played one practice match in Bismarck to get ready. The practice match was against Greg Welch and Bill Dodd, 2 of the best tennis players in town back then (and still). Of course they killed us, they were so good. Turns out our first match in Minot was against Greg and Bill. Larry had a forehand to be feared back then and also a killer serve. And he played a great match. I remember I had an easy overhead smash on match point, and I shanked it so bad that the ball hit the back fence in the air! But we still managed to win the match. That was the toughest match, and we went on to win the gold medal. It was all Larry that day, that's the truth. He was a great tennis player.

I first met Larry at our small tournament in Beulah. He placed second in B singles and doubles. From then on I got to see his love for Tennis. He played every Bismarck tourney he could and traveled with his closest friends to tennis destinations. (US open and Winledon included if I remember correctly) He was always a great competitor and sportsman, but mostly he loved to joke and have fun while playing. All of his Bismarck tennis family will miss him. My sincerest condolences Jim

Such a nice person. Talked to him a few months ago about our upcoming 55th reunion. He was looking forward to attending it. Visited a bit and that´s when I heard about his love for tennis. Rest in Peace Larry
