Laura Vidalis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 9 to Mar. 11, 2007.
VIDALIS, Laura At home, with her family at her side, Laura's journey came to a peaceful end on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the age of 41. Laura fought her illness as she lived her life, with great courage, dignity and unrelenting determination. Laura was predeceased by her father, Theodore Vidalis. Her spirit will always remain in the hearts of her husband Tom Roos and her much-adored children Tommy and Mitchell, her mother Anna and stepfather Gary, her brother Serge and sister-in-law Kathy, her godmother Aunt Sylvana, as well as the many relatives and friends who were such an important part of her life. Laura's family would like to thank the dedicated and caring doctors, nurses, social workers, and others who have helped Laura in her battle, including those at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, the Community Care Access Centre, Bayshore Home Health, the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre, and At-Home Hospice. Special thanks to Laura's close friends, her colleagues at Kinaxis, and her neighbours in Country Club Village for their unwavering love and support. Friends are invited to gather at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Road) on Monday, March 12th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm followed by a service celebrating Laura's life in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Condolences, tributes or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com .

Words simply can not express the sorrow. Tears can not wash away the pain. We can only hope that with time we can learn to cope. Our prayers will be with you always.

Strong, Determined, Inexhaustible, Passionate, Intelligent, Wise, Creative & Beautiful are but a few of the words I would use to describe Laura.

Laura lived her life to the fullest, all day and every day, managing to achieve things in her (all too short) 41 years that other people could never hope to achieve in a much longer lifespan.

Laura's strong spirit will live on in her husband Tom & her beautiful sons, Tommy & Mitchell, of whom she is so proud and loves so much.

Our thoughts, our love and our support go out to Tom, Tommy & Mitchell as well as to her strong and devoted mother Anna, beloved brother Serge, much loved step-father Gary and her close family and friends who all love her so very, very much and we are all so greatful for the fact that our lives have been touched by such a person as Laura.

Forever loved, Forever remembered.

Helene & Martin Hutchings & family.

Heather,

Please pass along my deepest sympathies to Tom, Tommy and Mitchell, as well as your Mom and Dad. I know that this time must be really hard on you as well as you were a great help to Laura in her last weeks. It will be a struggle for Tom and the kids for the next little while so be a great sister as always and give him the moral and emotional support they need. I cant see Tom dealing with this too good, so please pass along my regrets that God would take Laura away from him this early in life. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

Your friend through out everything,

Tara and Paul Faganello

Serge, you are truly a loyal and loving brother. Kathy, you are an amazing supporter and caring sister-in-law. Anna, you have incredible children and grandchildren because of your love as a mother. Serge/Kathy/Anna and Tom, Laura is at peace knowing she has your support. Take comfort and love in each other and always hold tight those little boys, for Laura.

I am so very sad to hear of Laura's passing. We had so many really successful times working together and more importantly just laughing at (with) life and those we knew together. The world has lost one of its' best, and all who were ever close to her are forever fortunate. My sincerest sympathy to Laura's Mom, Tom, the kids and family.

Tom, the boys, and both the Roos and Vidalis families - My deepest sympathies to all whose lives Laura touched. I was fortunate enough to have met her thru Darrin and Heather at their wedding, and again at both Grandma and Grandpa Roos' wakes. Such a beautiful, loving, gentle person. Words cannot express how her spirit touched me. She had a special aura around her that made her stand out among others. She was deeply blessed and is now sitting at the right hand of God, watching over your families until you meet again.
