Leigh Ivey Sr.
Dover- Leigh F. Ivey Sr., 82, formerly of Redden St., Dover, died Monday, April 09, 2012 at Watson Fields Assisted Living in Dover, after a period of failing health.

After the death of both of his parents he was raised by relatives in Bucksport, Maine through his elementary years. At the age of twelve, Leigh was sent to live with his aunt, Blanche Liebman in Eliot, Maine until he graduated from Eliot High School, Class of 1948.

Leigh's accomplishments included being an Eagle Scout and Scout Master of Boy Scouts of America. Also twenty years of service in the National Guard from which he retired as a Captain. After working five years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Leigh was accepted into the Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program at General Electric in Somersworth. Leigh retired from G.E. after 33 plus years on July 1st, 1990. Leigh helped usher at his church, St. Thomas Episcopal in Dover.

Besides the love he had for his family, he loved the Masons at Moses Paul Lodge. Leigh had just recently received his 50 year pin. He had been a past master, and held all other offices. Leigh was always happy to help Moses Paul Lodge in any way that he could, and to help members go up through the ranks.

Tuesdays at Watson Fields have had a special meaning to us because of a very spirited and loving couple who spent so much time with Jake lying at their feet. Leigh and Dot always had smiles on their faces when Jake walked in, and I can still hear Dot saying, "Give Leigh kisses, Jake." - as she'd smile with such adoration at the love of her Life. While on our journey together, Jake and I have met many dear people, but without a doubt Leigh had such treasured qualities that even the brightest of stars paled in comparison. He will forever remain in our hearts, and Dot will remain our Tuesday sweetheart. With love and wet kisses, Eileen and Jake

To Leih's family and friends, my most sincere sympathy. Donna, I am sure this is very difficult for you and your family and my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. He was quite the individual and he will be missed by many but rests in the hands of God now as a faithful servant of the Lord. God Bless to all.

So sorry to hear of Leigh's passing. We were classmates at GE and co-workers for all his years there, I always thought he was quiet and unassuming. One of the truly nice guys. I know you will miss him, Dot. My prayers are with you and the rest of your family.
