Lela Cooper Obituary
Born April 14, 1925, in Greenwood, she was the daughter of Vertrice Delk and Irene Adams Delk, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1947, in Bloomington, she married Logan H. Cooper, who passed away Sept. 30, 1996.
She attended Clearspring Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She worked at Logan Cooper Sales and Service as a partner with her husband for 35 years. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, rock collecting, sewing and puzzles.
Survivors include a son, James Logan Cooper of Clearspring; three grandchildren, Amanda Cooper, Tracy Hackman and Stacy Cooper; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert V. Delk and William K. Delk.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zabel Funeral Home in Brownstown with Pastor David Sawyers officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Clearspring Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Clearspring Cemetery Association.
