LEONARD F., Sr.
Age 85, of Finleyville died Saturday, August 20, 2016, in Mt. Vernon of South Park Assisted Living Center. He was born November 19, 1930, in Castle Shannon, a son of Andrew and Frances Binek Checque. Mr. Checque was retired as a pipe fitter at the Irvin Works of U.S. Steel Corporation in West Mifflin. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and the Mon Valley Leathernecks. Surviving are four sons, Leonard F. Checque, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, Edward Checque and his wife, Barbara and Andrew "Bud" Checque, all of Finleyville and Kenneth Checque and his wife, Debra of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Barbara Drevna and her husband, Charles of Dunn Loring, VA; a sister, Mary Ann Dixon of Mt. Lebanon; ten grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are his wife, Barbara Cheberenchick Checque, who died in June of 2006; and a grandson, Adam Checque. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, David P. Kegel, director, 3560 Washington Avenue in Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2016, at St. Francis Church, Finleyville, with Reverend Richard J. Tusky as celebrant. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery with full military honors being accorded by Mon Valley Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Condolences to:
