Lillie Mae Sapp

Lillie Mae Sapp, 84, of Tifton, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Golden Living Center. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 26, 2008 at Landmark Baptist Church in Chula, with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. Ken Potts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Ferrell, Mike Kilpatrick, Brandon Sapp, Jay Sapp, John Ashley Goff and Kevin Lassiter.

Mrs. Sapp was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Atlanta, to the late Forrest Emerald Green and Sallie Hamilton Greene. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Warren Sapp Sr.; one son, James Sapp Jr., and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Aultman Sapp.

Mrs. Sapp lived in Tifton most of her life. She and her husband were charter members of Landmark Baptist Church. She was very active in her church community. In addition to being a church member, she was an avid Braves fan. Mrs. Sapp retired from Oxford Manufacturing, where she was a supervisor. She was greatly missed by the employees, but Mrs. Sapp loved the traveling she and her husband and grandchildren could do after retirement. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Mrs. Sapp is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dwight Morrow of Newnan; one son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Vonda Sapp of Tifton; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also honorary grandmother to all of the children of her church.
