LouAnn Ellison Morgan, age 78, of West Valley City, passed away on Sunday March 26th, 2023, after sudden health complications.
LouAnn was born on Saturday October 21st, 1944, to Glenn and Marion Ellison in Ogden, Utah followed by her two brothers Clifford and David. After LouAnn graduated from Bonneville High School in 1962 she went on to pursue studies at Utah State University and Weber State University.
She met Dennis Douglas Morgan shortly after high school, the two were married on October 14th, 1965, and were sealed October 14th, of 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. They went on to have one child: James Gordon Morgan.
While Dennis was deployed in the Navy shortly after their marriage, she worked as a record keeper for local hospitals. After the birth of her son, LouAnn worked as a stay-at-home mom until she and Dennis separated in August of 1982. She then went on to work full time as a secretary for the Church Education System while also taking on various part time jobs during the evening. In September of 2007 LouAnn retired from CES but continued working part time until 2015. Since then, she has served two part time service missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints fulfilling genealogy work and ancestral records. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, gardening, and listening to the wind chimes outside her window.
LouAnn was predeceased by both of her parents as well as her two brothers. She is survived by her son James Morgan and his wife Emma as well as her grandchildren: Hailee and her husband Jeffrey, Seviah, and Senya Morgan.
Viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse at 3671 South Oldham Street (4180 West), West Valley City, Utah 84120 on Tuesday April 4th, 2023, from 10am to 12 pm. Graveside services will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah 84403 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints General Missionary Fund to help further the work that she held closest to her heart.
