Louis Babin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 7, 2014.
APACHE JUNCTION - Louis William Babin passed away on April 12, 2014. He was born in Baton Rouge, La. on Nov. 24, 1962 to Augustin Babin and Lucille Spedale Couvillion. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Matthew Couvillion and was a beloved brother to and survived by his brother, Charles Arlen (Chad) Couvillion and his sisters Joyce Lynette Worthy and Pamela Hartmann and husband John. He was an active member of the Apache Junction community for over twenty years, serving on the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission, City of Apache Junction Leadership Institute and other local organizations. He graduated from Broadmoor High School in Louisiana, attended New Mexico State University and was employed as a supervisor at Allied Barton. An ardent student of learning new skills, he was a graduate of Lamson College, where he earned a Paralegal Degree and was a member of the Maricopa County Bar Assc, Paralegal Division. He was also certified as a Medical/Chiropractic Assistant and a Diesel Mechanic. Babin and his father spent many years traveling around the United States collecting historical aircraft parts, artifacts and documents. Honoring his wishes to leave his life's legacy for all to share, the collection has been turned over to the Commemorative Air Force Base and parts will be used in 65 Air Force bases across America to restore original World War II aircraft. Other rare items in the collection will be displayed in museum(s) with a plaque recognizing the Babin's contribution to the preservation of our aviation history. A memorial service will be held in Babin's hometown of Baton Rouge, La.

Louis was a hard worker and advanced very quickly. I remember the first day here at Allied on my shift, I would get calls from him daily asking questions. I'm thinking "aw man more questions (joking)", but with every question that he asked I knew that he wanted to succeed and do the best that he could here at work.

I never new Louis personally and never seen him face to face but as a fellow co-worker for the short time that I knew him (receiving phone calls), I knew that he wanted to advance and be the best he can be. I like to surround myself around people like that, it's just sad that I never got a chance to shake his hand and meet him.
