Louise Phillips -ATLANTA - Louise Phillips, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend, died April 28, 2009. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11A.M. at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 North Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45406. -She was born in Baldwin County, Georgia on May 12, 1921. She also lived in Haddock, Georgia, before moving to Dayton, Ohio to better her life. She worked first at McCalls and later at the Veterans Administration Hospital, from which she retired. In Dayton, she met and married Oliver "Nick" Phillips. She loved to help others and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She also loved to shop, especially for clothes, and to take pictures. Until her death, she was a huge fan of professional wrestling, never missing it on TV. She was very active in her church, Mt. Enon Baptist Church, where she was involved in many activities, including her beloved Mystery Circle. After the death of her husband, she moved to Atlanta to be near her son, Robb Pitts and his family: wife, Fran and daughter, Jordan. In Atlanta, she lived first at Cathedral Towers, then at Campbell Stone North until her health began to fail. She also became a member of Antioch Baptist Church North. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Webb; husband, Oliver Phillips; two brothers, James "Man" Williams and Clifford "Tweet" Williams. -She is survived by her son, Fulton County Commissioner, Robb Pitts; granddaughter, Jordan Pitts; daughter-in-law, Fran Pitts; sister-in-law, Gracie Williams; nieces and nephews, including Lula Graves of Clarkston, Glenn "Tang Tang" Williams of Atlanta, Rochelle Huland, Vickie Huland, Robin Wynn and Marty Williams, all of Dayton, Ohio and Beverly Hill of New York City. She also has two "adopted" sons, Earnest Allen of Atlanta and Ralph Hopper of Dayton, Ohio. -Willie A. Watkins Historical West End Chapel, 1003 Ralph D.
