SAN ANTONIO, TX. -A Memorial service was held to celebrate the life of Lowell Charles Laake on May 20th, 2007 at the Laake Family farm in Junction Texas. Cecil Conners officiated
Lowell Charles Laake, better known as Charlie, was born April 30, 1955 in Brownsville, Texas. Born to Lowell and Erma Laake, Charlie grew up in Brownsville, Texas. He attended Marine Military Academy and South Texas Vo-Tech in Harlingen Texas. He received a certificate in Animal Husbandry from South Texas Vo-Tech. He served four years in the US Navy.
Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to visit his grandparents on their farm in Junction where he loved to hunt and fish on the Llano River. Charles was in ill health for several years and passed away 10-12-2005 in San Antonio Texas in the VA hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father Lowell Laake, his wife Betty and his grandparents Pete and Sybil Laake.
He is survived by his son Lowell ``Bubba'' Laake, of Florida, mother Erma Simmons of Brownsville Texas, his sister Lynda Armstrong and husband Ron of Brownsville, Texas, his sister Cindy Day and husband Gene of Victoria, Texas, his aunt Joana Laake of Mansfield, Texas, and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
