Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 16, 2021.
Loyce (Parker/Rawlings) Pace
September 13, 1933 - August 10, 2021
Gardnerville, Nevada - Loyce was born near Sanger California, the first child to parents Helen and George Parker. She graduated from Fresno State College in 1955 and began teaching in the Central Valley. Loyce's passion for teaching made a difference in the lives of her many students. She spent most of her career in Sacramento area High Schools – Hiram Johnson, McClatchy and American Legion. She earned a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and taught Home Economics, Art, Vocational Education and Early Childhood Development. At American Legion, she started a program for pregnant teenagers along with opening a preschool.
Loyce expressed herself through art and crafts. Her greatest artistic passion was quilting. She made beautiful quilts and fabric pieces. She had many very dear friends who shared her love of quilting at Quilt Camp and in quilt clubs. She loved travel and ventured with friends and family to South Korea, China, Mongolia, Russia, Europe and Australia.
At age 10, Loyce was preceded in death by her loving mother, Helen. Later, by father George, brothers Larry and Leslie, sister Glenda and son Edward Pace. She is survived by loving husband Robert Pace; brothers Jack Clarke, Clyde Clarke, Wilmer Clarke, Carl Parker and Ray Parker; daughters Cindy Rawlings (Mike Hogan) and Linda McDonald (Vince); granddaughters Shelley Poole (Aaron) and Car Armstrong (Chris); great-grandson Martin Poole.
Loyce made a loving impact on this world and will be dearly missed. If you would like to make a donation in her honor, please donate to the charity of your choice. She will be laid to rest with her mother at Sanger Cemetery. Memorial services will be determined at a later date.

Mrs. Pace was a beloved teacher of mine from Hiram Johnson. She taught me how to balance a check book. Ran into her several years later at a quilt show in Folsom. Getting back into quilting so I´d thought I´d reach out. Sad to hear of her passing. She was a really amazing lady

Dear Pace Family. Mrs. Pace was my teacher at H.J. High School in the 70's. She was the reason I chose to be a children's center teacher and to mentor young adults. One of my favorite teachers in high school. May she soar with the angels and smile on us all. God Bless her.
