Lucille M. "Lucy" Davis

Graveside funeral service for Lucille M. "Lucy" Davis, 89, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. William F. Watkins, officiating.Mrs. Davis died Wednesday in Norman.Burial will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.She was born July 13, 1919 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She grew up in Chickasha and in 1936 Lucy, age 17, met her beloved Randall, age 24, and after just three weeks of dating they married. The marriage that "Wouldn't Last" spanned 53 years. They married on August 30, 1936 in Duncan, Oklahoma, and Randall preceded her in death on January 2, 1989. Those 53 years included them working side-by-side as owners of the Davis Shoe Store in Lawton from 1936 to 1970.Lucy, or Granny, to friends and family, will be remembered as the woman who always greeted you with a big smile, a cheerful word, and a warm hug. She was an active member in the VFW and the Elk's Lodge and was named Doe Woman of the Year in 1997 in Lawton. She was a member of Moose Lodge 1799 in Norman and was active in Women of the Moose.She is survived by her daughter, Rosa McFarland; granddaughters, Kim Davis, Tammy Perkins, Leslie Miller, Shanna Palan and Serah Davis; great grandchildren, Crimson, Brandon, Cassidy and Austin.She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Davis, and her son, Leslie Davis.Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Charities, c/o WOTM Chapter 208, P.O.
