Luis Melara Obituary
Mr. Luis Alberto Melara passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 83. Originally from New York, Luis was a retired U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine Association and a member of Victory Fellowship Church.
He is preceded in death by his father Carlos Melara, his mother, Ana Teresa Melara, and his brother Carlos Melara. He is survived by his wife, Haydee Rivera Melara, and his children, Luis A. Melara Jr. (Leila Melara), Julio A. Melara (Sherry Melara), Antonio Rivera, and Zinnia G. Andara (Alonso Andara Jr.).
He is also survived by his sister Aneris Melara and his eight grandchildren: Ethan-Pierce Melara, Sophia Melara, Talia Melara, Hillary Melara, Jordan Melara, Jonathan Melara, Alonso Andara III, and Alenxandria Graciela Andara.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. with a Memorial Service following at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. The interment will immediately follow the Memorial Service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
