Magdalene Green Obituary
She was born in St. Anne, Jamaica on November 6, 1935.
At 17 years of age, she moved to London, England to start a career in nursing. After her training as a registered nurse, she took many turns in the medical field. She worked as a midwife, mental health nurse and finally settled into community health. She served her communities faithfully in London, Jamaica and the USA.
Merl loved to travel and explore new places. She also loved to dance and listen to music, especially reggae and jazz. She also loved her church and reading her Bible.
Many people have always talked about her positive and pleasant personality and how contagious her smile was.
She was a ray of sunshine.
She adored her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. They will all miss her greatly.
Magdalene was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Washington Green.
She is survived by daughter, Lorraine Woodard (David) & son, Andrew Green; grandchildren, Carl, Christopher and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jayden, Jewel, Eileen, Calil, Haniella and Mia; and, many loving friends.
The family invites you to Celebrate Merl's Life with them at The Altar Vineyard Church of St. Cloud on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial at Mt. Peace Cemetery, followed by a Reception at the Church.

My dear Green;
We've had some real life & Good times together from working the district in London to meeting up again in NY to being my framily in Fl, & staying what the young folks now call true BFF's. Your warm smiles & funny jokes & expressions will always be remembered, as you leave us all w/treasured memories of either working together, cruising together & living life together! I miss our telephone chats. But our accomplishments in life of Leaving our legacies of our children to stay in touch also Will be conversation pieces among them. I will miss you, but thankful that you rest peacefully in our lords arms! Love you my friend.

You were the sweetest lady and so honored to have known you. Victor thought the world of you and your loving Smile. Victor met you many years before I came into the picture, but when I first met you I am blessed for God to bless us with your friendship. Years ago when we we saw you in the Nursing Home we saw your smile as you looked at us. You said to Victor give me a hugg. Victor thought the world of you. Mrs. Green was a wonderful woman, she was even more like a mother to many of us younger youth In our community in Jamaica. Always encouraging us to go to church, get an education and find good jobs... Mrs.Green will be surely missed by many. Rest in perfect peace Mrs.Green we love you. From my family to yours.

In life I am still learning that, people come in to your life and leave their impressions in different ways, these impressions are all to be learnt from. Auntie Merl has given me and my family such a great love, sharing and kindness, that we are blessed everyday to have her in our lives. Never to be forgotten. Dear Lorraine, Andrew and Family our sincere condolences at this sad time.
My cousin Magdalene 'Merl' Green was a wonderful person. She loved her family and cared deeply for her friends. She was very kind, loving and giving. She had a fantastic sense of humour and when accompanied by her contagious laugh, she would have you cracking up.
Merl will be missed by all our family and her memory will live on forever. May she rest in perfect peace, with all our love and prayers.
