Maki Rebecca SHINOBU

SHINOBU, Maki Rebecca - August 14, 1928 - November 21, 2012 Passed away at home, surrounded by loving family, after a lengthy journey with Alzheimer's disease. She was born and raised in Vancouver. The family relocated to Toronto in 1945. Parents Tokizo and Tomiye Toguri. She joins them, her sister Mary and brothers Eizo, Sam, Jim and David. Survived by Etsu, Grace, Allan and Miki. Maki taught at Oakridge Public School and later earned her B.A. at the University of Toronto. She married her husband Roy in 1955 and they made their home in Don Mills. Always a great partner, wonderful mother to Leslie and Douglas and a true friend to many. A private service has been held with family.
