Martin Eichler

Martin Eichler, 88, of Elizabeth Township, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, in Riverside Care Center. He was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Bautzen, Germany, and was the son of the late Herbert Eichler and Martha (Stiebitz) Eichler. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Township, Blaine Hill AARP and also was a member and past treasurer of the Central Lions Club. Martin was a World War II Army veteran serving in Italy and was a Mechanical Engineer for the former Enamel Products and Plating Co. He is survived by his wife, Ilse Hildegard Schneider Eichler; sons, Kenneth and wife, Linda Eichler, of Murrysville, and Alan and wife, Roxanne Eichler, of North Versailles; a daughter, Wendy Eichler, of Coral Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Kristen and Kaitlin Mooney, Alex, Erich, Adam, Elissa and Annie Eichler; and a great-grandson, John Brooke. He was preceded in death by a grandson, John Mooney. There is no visitation. Private funeral service will be held in the chapel of the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township.
